The center is home to Francolonial buildings dating from the late 1800s.
Completed in 1909 as Saigon City Hall. It has been used as the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee City Hall since the end of the Vietnam War.
Saigon Central Post Office. Completed in 1891. It was modeled after the Orsay station building in Paris. It is a famous tourist attraction as one of the colonial buildings of the Saigon era.
Saigon Great Church. This Catholic church was built between 1863 and 1880 during the French Indochina period.
Saigon Opera House. Built by a French architect, it was completed and opened in 1900. Inviting theater companies from Paris to Saigon, it was a popular theater for French settlers and the French army. It is still used today.
Reunification Palace. Completed in 1873, it was originally used as the palace where the French governor lived, and was used as the presidential palace during the South Vietnam era. Saigon fell and the Vietnam War came to an end as a tank broke through the fence and entered the site of “The Moment When a Country Disappears”. It is now a museum that remains intact.
